Search engine optimization is easy in principle, but it requires a lot of patience and the ability to diagnose any problems that may arise during your SEO journey.
The reason why most people fail is because either they are 1. Impatient 2. Unable to adapt to changes.
Why You Need To Be Patient
One of the mistakes a lot of us make is second guessing ourselves. Did I do the right thing? Or maybe I should delete this blog post and write a different one, etc.
Take a breath and calm yourself.
It is taking longer and longer to rank on search engines nowadays. In a way it’s a good thing.
Search engines are weeding out spammers and people who want to make a quick buck at the expense of other people.
On average, it takes about 3-6 months to start ranking getting some traffic from your blog posts. Once you pass 9 months, then your website is at a point where it becomes easier to rank newer articles without having to wait that long.
Your website needs time to build up some authority and trust with Google and search engines. Think of it as meeting someone, whether romantically or as friends. You need time to get to know them before you decide to marry them or become best friends right? There needs to be some form of trust built before making a big commitment right?
So think of it in that kind of way.
It took me a year and a half before I saw any major increase in my affiliate commission and income through SEO. I used to start a new project then decide to delete it and start a new one. Over and over and over again.
It wasn’t until I finally decided to stay consistent and commit myself to a project before I saw any results.

Unable To Adapt To Changes
While I wish SEO was as simple as A, B, and C, Search engine updates, what people expect and are looking for always change.
Side note: Which is why a lot of keyword plugins and tools are outdated and are not necessarily the most accurate.
There are always new trends, expectations from consumers.
You have to adapt to the changes of consumers as well as make the necessary changes to your website when it comes to best SEO practices. What used to be important in SEO 10 years ago is vastly different than what is important in SEO nowadays.
Some people think SEO is something you do just once, but in truth, you have to always maintain your website and take care of it. A car that is well kept and maintained works better than a car that never goes to the auto mechanic…
