Why I Stopped Teaching Digital Marketing

If you are new to digital marketing, I am sure you have searched online for courses and training programs. Maybe you bought a few courses, or perhaps used to be one of my students, but after many years teaching hundreds of students, I’ve come to the realization that you can learn everything up to intermediate level without buying any courses or spending money.

In truth, you don’t need to waste money on so called “gurus” or people who say they know how to do digital marketing. If you have a phone, computer and internet, you can find everything you need online on Youtube or with a few Google searches.

Though certain programs and courses give you the basic understanding, if you want to get actual results, you have to put in the time and consistently do the work. Practical training is where you actually learn the most.

While “gurus” make it seem working from anywhere you like on your own schedule as easy, it’s not a get rich quick scheme. You will still have to devote a good amount of time honing your skills and making the right decisions.

Don’t get me wrong, taking beginner level courses and programs does help, but I’ve seen way to many fake “gurus” pretend to know what they are doing in order to make some money.

I won’t name who or the company, but it was pretty common for me and my partner company to have our content stolen by other “gurus” and digital marketing agencies in Mongolia. Where is the creativity? Where is the fairness?

Most importantly do these companies practice what they teach and get actual results for themselves?

Hence I’ve become very skeptical about the whole industry within Mongolia. Before you decide to attend one of their training course, be sure to verify whether they practice what they teach…

However, if you know English or any other major languages and are good at using the internet / computer, don’t waste your time and money.
